The government backs your move to smart energy with various financial supports:

Your Home

Administered by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), the government provides a once-off grant towards the purchase and installation of Solar PV Panels for eligible homes. The grant covers materials and labour.
The value of your grant will depend on the peak output of your solar system. Output is measured in kWp and the grant is allocated as follows:

  • €900 for 1kWp
  • €1,800 for 2kWp
  • €2,100 for 2kWp
  • €2,400 for 4kWp

Your Business, Public Organisation
or Community Group

There is a range of supports and grants available to businesses to help them make savings and reduce their carbon footprint. You can receive up to €2,400 for the installation of Solar PV Panels.

Your Farm

The government’s Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS) provide grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding. TAMS 3 is an enhanced scheme for 2023 to help farmers fund solar energy projects. The grant allows for installations costing up to €90,000 and at an enhanced rate of 60% of the cost incurred.
